A Taste of Ghana – Woori Education Celebrates Ghanaian Cultural Day

Woori Education Group celebrates ‘A Taste of Ghana’ with students, friends and family in their offices.  Ghanaians celebrate March 6th as their Independence day. The people of Ghana are Ghanaians. Ghana is located in West Africa.

A Taste of Ghana was organized to share into the culture, experiences and dynamics of the people of Ghana. This event brought together individuals from different cultures was full of fun and there was a lot to be learned. We learned how Ghana was the first sub-Saharan country to gain independence from the United Kingdom. They used to be called Gold Coast and after Independence the name changed to Ghana.

Next, we learned was about the food. Ghana has some amazing delicacies like the ever-popular ‘Jollof rice’, fufu, Banku, tumbani and many more. Ghana is being represented by over 80 indigenous languages spoken by the various tribes. We learned more about sports, music, major exports, festivals and tourist attractions.

Not only did we have so much fun at the end of the day. We look forward to having the next cultural day event.

Learning how to play the traditional ‘Oware’ game
